Less than 2% of the population are farmers. How much do you really know about agriculture?
Where do you go to seek legal advice? Most would say a lawyer. Medical advice? (hopefully) a doctor. Would you let a pasty chef fix your car? No??? Why, then, are people going to everyone else except a farmer when they have questions about their food?
I came up with the phrase, Ask Farmers, Not Google to encourage the public to ask the source of where their food comes from: farmers.
We may be very busy people, but we're willing to have a conversation with you. We're willing to answer your questions. We're willing to open our barn doors and show you where your food all starts. All you have to do is ask.
Farm tours are a fantastic way to see first-hand the origin of your food- where it starts and how it ends up in your local grocery stores. I love giving farm tours. I live for what I call "The Light Bulb" moment. The moment when, while I'm explaining something and it all of a sudden clicks in your head and you exclaim, "Wow! That makes total sense."
