How Is This Course Run?The First 8 Weeks: 100% online, live classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays evenings Class times determined when registration opens Attending live is NOT mandatory All classes recorded and available on-demand with password-protected access 16 total lessons (2 one-hour lessons per week) Interactive discussions with in-class activities and participation Homework assignments to reinforce learning (it's not overload, I promise) Certificate of completion after submitting final assessment Learn at Your Own Pace with additional 6 more weeks: After the initial 8 weeks, you get 6 more weeks of access I get it! 😊 My students have full-time careers, families, etc. You don't have to keep up with the live pace if you can't/don't want to. These last 6 weeks of the course give you more time to: Learn at your own pace: watch recordings when convenient for you Catch up by re-watching lessons and accessing all course content Contact instructor for additional help (available during the full 16-week period) *Disciplined self-pacing required to complete the course

What Are The Learning Objectives?Beginners Course Objectives: Upon completion, students will be confidently able to: Construct simple sentences/phrases in the present tense, verbally and written Properly conjugate verbs in the present tense and present progressive tenses Example: They work in the morning You are working Tuesday. Can you work tomorrow? Pronounce Spanish vowels, consonants, and sounds correctly Comprehend basic vocabulary, sentences, and phrases audibly Utilize an extensive library of agriculture-specific vocabulary Understand cultural differences impacting Spanish-speaking contexts Intermediate Course Objectives: Upon completion, students will be confidently able to: Form sentences/phrases in present, past (preterite/imperfect), and future tenses Conjugate verbs across all major tenses Use direct/indirect object pronouns like "it" correctly Example: They worked last night. He was working on the truck. You will work tomorrow morning. She cleaned it last Friday. Expand vocabulary with more agriculture terminology Deepen understanding of cultural concepts and regional variations

What Exactly Will I Learn?Language Basics: Spanish alphabet, numbers, colors, articles Subject pronouns, common verbs, and verb conjugation Days, months, weather expressions, greetings, prepositions Agriculture Vocabulary: New industry-specific vocabulary lists each week Tailored to your chosen segment: dairy, swine, or poultry General ag terms covered and incorporated into applicable sentences/phases Cultural Competency: Understanding cultural concepts like holidays, customs and correct terminology Awareness of regional differences and inclusive practices Gain insights of how to build/repair on-farm relationships with Spanish speakers In summary, you'll build a solid foundation in basic Spanish grammar and conversational skills, while rapidly expanding your technical vocabulary for effective communication in the agriculture workplace. The cultural insights will also promote inclusivity and help bridge gaps with Spanish-speaking team members, customers and communities.

Supplemental Materials: Digital flashcard decks for all vocabulary Practice worksheets tailored to your industry Custom vocabulary lists Online games and exercises Curated supplemental video/resource links Practice & Homework: Homework assignments after each class for reinforcement Plan to spend minimum 1 hour per week on homework/vocab practice Instructor Support: Email your instructor with any questions Option to schedule 1-on-1 video sessions for additional help You'll have access to engaging video lessons, comprehensive vocabulary resources specific to your industry, plentiful practice materials, interactive activities and games, as well as direct support from your instructor (that's me!) to ensure your success!

The only exception is the instructional videos, which are available exclusively during the course period.

Beginners or Intermediate?
You may be ready for the Intermediate Course if you are able to:

Learning a language is not a passive activity. Continuous and consistent effort is required. You get out of it what you put into it.
